Food Programs For Seniors

Food commodities (CSFP) are provided for income-eligible seniors age 60 and over in Umatilla, Morrow, Gilliam, and Wheeler counties.  CSFP is a health and nutrition program that offers free nutritious pre-assembled food boxes to supplement the daily diet of seniors.  Each senior food box will have a variety of high quality nutritious foods, such as evaporated milk, meat, peanut butter, rice, cereal, fruits, vegetables, etc.  The senior food boxes are distributed at multiple sites through the four county service area.

Those seeking to qualify must contact CAPECO by phone at 1-800-752-1139 or 541-276-5073 to obtain an application.  All applications must be completed and have the appropriate supporting documentation in order to be eligible to receive food commodities.

CSFP boxes are distributed from pre-arranged sites throughout the month, with outer areas being served every other month.  Enrolled households receive a post-card listing the date and time of the next commodity distribution.
