The following classes are offered in Pendleton:

CAPECO Services Orientation: Learn about the Community Services CAPECO has and how to access those services. Registration is not required.

Building Your Resumé: Learn what the different types of resumés are and which one best suits your situation. You will learn how to prepare a professional resumé and how to write an effective job–specific cover letter that will greatly increase your chance of getting an interview. If desired, you will create a basic resumé in the class.

Marketing Yourself/Interviewing: Are you aware that an unknown job interview may actually begin when you pick up an application? Learn how to prepare for and effectively participate in an interview that will greatly increase your chances of landing the job you want.

Identifying Your Skills: Using web–based resources, you will be assisted in answering questions like “What is my dream job?” “What careers pay well and are growing?” “What do I want to do with the rest of my life?” and “What are my most employable skills?”

National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC): The NCRC is a nationally recognized certificate providing documentation of work readiness skills in three core areas: Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information. Testers will take three proctored assessment on the computer to obtain a certificate. Register by calling DONNA at 541-564-5695 by Tuesday of the week of testing.

Introduction to Computers: Learn the basics about computers; Internet Explorer 8, Windows 7, and much more. This workshop meets for 1½ days (an afternoon followed by a full day with a break for lunch). Attendance is expected for the entire workshop.

Microsoft Word 2010: Creating and editing documents, formatting text and paragraphs and formatting documents. This workshop meets for 1½ days (an afternoon followed by a full day with a break for lunch). Attendance is expected for the entire workshop.

Microsoft Excel 2010: Building and editing worksheets, formatting worksheets and working with charts. This workshop meets for 1½ days (an afternoon followed by a full day with a break for lunch). Attendance is expected for the entire workshop.

  • Go to www.workinginoregon.org.
  • Under Featured Links click on iMatch Skills.
  • Under iMatch Skills click on: Job Seekers Click Here.
  • At the Welcome screen select Begin.
  • At the Login screen enter your Username and Password to sign into your iMatch Skills account.
  • After signing in, you'll be on the WorkSource page.
  • Click on the myWORKSOURCE icon. My Worksource Icon
  • Click on the Workshops button.
  • Click on Select a workshop from calendar.
  • Select Location from the pull down menu.
    • In Pendleton, computer classes are held at the CAPECO office.
    • All other workshops are held at the Employment Department offices in Hermiston and Pendleton.
  • Select the month when you want to take a workshop, then click Update Calendar.
  • Click on a workshop title to see information about the workshop on the next screen, and then click Sign Up.
